I think everyone knows that I am an airplane enthusiast.  One of my hobbies is to see airshow performances such as the Blue Angels, Thunderbirds, and Snowbirds.  Also, I enjoy seeing the legendary solo performers such as of Patty Wagstaff, Sean Tucker, and many others.  The times I went to Oshkosh and Sun-N-Fun, I gravitated to the US Aerobatics Team tents and  talked to the pilots hanging around as well as admired the cool looking aerobatic airplanes they had there.

Through the years I have come to enjoy the performances of the Red Baron Pizza Squadron.  This group flew Stearmans and did a hell of a job of it.  They made it seem very simple (like most great airshow performers). Sadly, Red Baron’s Pizza recently announced that the group was going to be disbanded.  This is a great loss to the airshow community. Enjoy this pilot’s view of one of their performances.

Tell us about your airshow experiences…
