Each year hundreds of homes burn to the ground.  Tragically, these fires are often caused by faulty fireplaces.  One of my favorite activities is to light up the fire place and enjoy the heat.  Every year I make sure that my fireplace is clean and in proper working order by calling out a chimney sweep.  A good chimney sweep will not only clean the fireplace, but also visually inspect it as well.  Often, he or she can reach areas that the average person could not.  Generally, this service is not that expensive.  Below is a video clip on the importance of having your chimney inspected on a regular basis.
